Voices: We understand the role of county recorder, and Rashelle Hobbs is the best choice for Salt Lake County

We are confident she will continue to bring positive contributions to our work and the public we serve.

As county recorders from across Utah, our primary focus is on ensuring the accuracy, security and accessibility of public records. Based on her performance and qualifications, we proudly endorse our colleague Rashelle Hobbs for Salt Lake County recorder.

Hobbs’ approach to her work is practical and focused. She is dedicated to serving the community and maintaining high standards in the recording industry. Her ability to work well with her colleagues and her commitment to transparency make her a strong candidate for the role of Salt Lake County Recorder.

One of her most significant contributions to our industry is Property Watch, a consumer protection service that enables property owners to monitor their property record closely. Property owners simply sign up online. This service helps protect against potential fraud by alerting property owners to any recorded changes to their property record. Rashelle created and piloted this program in Salt Lake County and then provided important knowledge on the program to our offices, allowing us to offer this protection to our county residents, as well. This has been a valuable addition to our tools for protecting homeowners and safeguarding public records.

Additionally, her willingness to serve as the chair of the state’s County Recorders’ Standards Board, is notable. Her election to this position by a unanimous vote reflects the confidence her county peers and industry partners have in her leadership abilities. She has effectively collaborated with various stakeholders, including those at the Utah Legislature, where she is a valued resource on policy matters.

We believe that the role of county recorder requires a high level of expertise and competence. After careful consideration, we are endorsing Rashelle Hobbs for Salt Lake County recorder because she is the most qualified candidate for the job, regardless of political affiliation. Her proven track record and dedication to the field make her the best choice to serve the needs of Salt Lake County.

We, the undersigned county recorders, believe that Rashelle Hobbs is the best choice for Salt Lake County Recorder. We are confident she will continue to bring positive contributions to our work and the public we serve.
