Our country needs competent, principled leadership to hold this current administration accountable and to advance a conservative agenda. No one can do that better for Utah than my friend and colleague, Sen. Mike Lee.
I have known and worked with Mike since he welcomed me to the Senate in 2014. I’ve learned he fiercely stands up for his state, making sure the needs and perspectives of Utah are considered.
As Mike and I serve together on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, he has taught me about the issues particular to Utah such as its federal parks, natural resources, the amount of land the federal government owns in Utah and the tax revenue Utah loses because of it. We have worked together to push the Biden administration to use American natural resources to lower the cost of gasoline and utilities for the Utah and Louisiana families we represent.
With Mike Lee and a Republican majority in the Senate, we can more effectively address these issues.
Now is the time that we need leaders who bring people together and deliver results.
In May of this year, 40% of the U.S. baby formula supply was out of stock due to the CDC closure of a top manufacturing plant and months of inaction by the Biden administration. While the White House was working to avoid blame, Mike was working on a solution. He asked me to join him in introducing his FORMULA Act. His legislation was aimed at cutting red tape to increase access to imported baby formula for parents desperate to feed their children. Through hard work, he led a coalition to pass his legislation through the Senate.
Mike Lee is an advocate and a friend. There are times we have disagreed, but I have never questioned his commitment to those he represents. He is always clear about his principles and will stand for what he and the people of Utah believe in.
We will need that conviction when Democrats once again push their legislation to legalize abortion all the way up to the moment of birth. Sen. Lee is as dependably pro-life as it gets. No one can question where he stands. Like so many times before, his vote will make the difference.
We need Mike in the Senate. He has the vision and dedication needed to improve the lives of every Utah and every American family. There is no better advocate for the people of Utah to elect this November than Sen. Mike Lee.
