In the same week that former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg are campaigning in Salt Lake City, another Democratic presidential hopeful — Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard — is visiting Utah.
Gabbard is holding four events over the weekend in Utah, according to her campaign website. At each event, people can ask questions and get photos.
The events are:
• A “meet the candidate” event Friday, 1:30 to 3 p.m., at the University of Utah’s Hinckley Institute of Politics, 260 Campus Center Drive, Salt Lake City.
• A town hall Friday night, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Pierpont Place, 163 W. Pierpont Ave., Salt Lake City.
• A town hall Saturday, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., at the Marriott Hotel, at 101 W. 100 North, Provo.
• A “snowboarding with Tulsi” meet-up Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., at Snowbird ski resort, Little Cottonwood Canyon.
Gabbard trails far behind the front-runners in the Democratic presidential race in recent nationwide polling. She got 1% in an ABC News/Washington Post poll released Wednesday, and received zero percent in a poll released Wednesday by The Hill/HarrisX.
Gabbard received 3.3% of the votes in the New Hampshire primary last week, placing seventh. She did not qualify for Wednesday’s presidential debate in Las Vegas.
