Some freeway exits will close this weekend on Interstate 80 near the border of Salt Lake and Tooele counties and on Interstate 215 near the mouth of Parleys Canyon.
The Utah Department of Transportation says the eastbound I-80 exit to State Road 201 (Exit 102) will close from Friday at 10 a.m. until Monday at 5 a.m.
During that time, drivers would should continue on eastbound I-80 and exit at State Road 202 (Exit 104). They many then take S.R. 202 to its intersection with S.R. 201.
That closure is needed to complete maintenance work on the I-80 ramp bridge over railroad tracks.
The I-215 exit to eastbound I-80 (Exit 2) near Parleys Canyon is scheduled to close four nights, from Sunday through Wednesday. It will close each night at 9:30 p.m. and reopen by 4:30 a.m.
Drivers seeking to exit there will need to continue on westbound I-80 to 1300 East (Exit 126), where they can exit and re-enter onto eastbound I-80.
Crews are completing preparation work prior to replacing the electronic overhead sign on I-80 at the mouth of the canyon.
UDOT previously announced this week that it plans to close Interstate 15 in Roy on Friday and Saturday night to allow work on water pipelines beneath it.
It is scheduled to close between Riverdale Road and 5600 South from 10 p.m. on Friday until 8 a.m on Saturday, and again from 10 p.m. on Saturday until 9 a.m. on Sunday.
Southbound traffic will be detoured off of I-15 at Interstate 84. The detour will follow I-84 to Riverdale Road, then go to 1900 West, and follow it to 5600 South where cars may re-enter the freeway.
