Crash leads to Summit County bus driver’s DUI arrest

Summit Park, Utah • A bus driver has been arrested for driving under the influence after his bus veered off a road in Summit Park.

KUTV in Salt Lake City reported Monday that the Summit County Sheriff's Office booked 43-year-old Jason Parker on charges including having a blood alcohol level above the legal limit.

According to court documents, a Park City Transit bus picked up on passenger Saturday morning and then went off the road after leaving.

The bus became stuck on a creek culvert.

Deputies on the scene say Parker initially said he had fallen asleep while driving. But a deputy reported smelling alcohol on Parker.

A breath alcohol test showed a .074 blood alcohol level. The legal limit is .05.

It was not immediately known if Parker had an attorney.
