A rainstorm flooded Salt Lake City on Sunday night, quickly turning suburban streets — and even the freeway — into roaring rivers.

Residents posted videos of the storm on social media, showing backyards filled with massive puddles and water rushing down their neighborhood roads. At one point, downtown Salt Lake City looked like a swimming pool. One man even got his kayak to paddle through it.
The flooding was seen across the capital and into the surrounding cities of Salt Lake County.
Water gushed down streets in Sugar House. The front of East High at 1300 East was soaked. And 400 South raged, with waves of water pouring down the road.
The Salt Lake City Police Department urged drivers to use caution during the storm. And one person posted a photo of Interstate 15 completely covered in rain.
