A teacher at Hillcrest High School in Midvale has been placed on leave as police investigate complaints made against him.
"We are in an active investigation and there are multiple victims," Unified Police Department Sgt. Melody Gray said Thursday morning.
No one has been arrested, Gray said. She declined to give more details, citing the investigation.
Neither Gray nor Canyons School District spokesman Jeff Haney disclosed the teacher’s name Thursday. Haney also declined to specify the allegations.
Haney said the teacher was placed on leave Dec. 6 after a parent with a child enrolled in the district called district offices to report information he or she had learned.
"He has been placed on paid administrative leave pending outcomes of an investigation into allegations of unprofessional conduct," Haney said.
Haney said at least some of the conduct is alleged to have happened on campus.
