Utahns can soon catch a flight to Southern California for less than a dinner date.
Breeze Airways will offer direct service from Provo to San Bernardino beginning Feb. 7. The flight will run on Mondays and Fridays, and passengers who book through the Utah-based carrier’s website or app through Dec. 18 can get a one-way ticket for $39. The promotion began Thursday.
“Provo is our hometown airport, and we’re looking forward to offering our guests from PVU a faster and cheaper connection to Southern California,” Breeze Airways founder and CEO David Neeleman said in a news release. “We have continued to hear rave reviews about how much our guests love the Provo airport and the convenience that it brings to those living in Utah County.”
The new flight will be the first time Provo will have a direct connection to Southern California, according to the airline. The low-cost carrier previously offered service to San Bernardino with a stop in San Francisco.
“Breeze Airways’ announcement of a new direct flight to San Bernardino is yet another milestone in the incredible growth at the Provo Airport,” Provo Mayor Michelle Kaufusi said in the release. “This new route is a testament to Provo’s vibrant future and our strong partnership with Breeze Airways.”
The airline took off in 2021, and now offers over 200 routes between 66 cities across 30 states. The carrier recently added a new twice-weekly flight from Provo to Dallas over the summer.
