Here’s when Utah will see storms and colder-than-normal temperatures

Cold front could bring gusts of up to 50 mph in southwestern Utah, the National Weather Service predicts.

After a warm weekend, fall temperatures are expected to arrive in Utah on Tuesday and stay for the week.

The National Weather Service predicted a fall storm would roll through Utah on Monday afternoon and evening, with gusts of up to 50 mph in some areas.

A wind advisory for southwest Utah — primarily in western Millard and Juab counties — was in effect from noon to 9 p.m. Monday, the weather service reported.

The storm front is predicted to bring rain to parts of Utah, and possibly snow above the 9,000-foot level, the weather service said.

On Tuesday, high temperatures are expected to reach only 64 degrees — some 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the highs over the weekend. Highs are expected in the low 70s for the rest of the week, which is about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year, the weather service said.

The cold front crossing Utah on Monday evening is “ushering much cooler air into the area for Tuesday,” according to the National Weather Service’s website. “The main storm system will move through the region Tuesday, with cool and unsettled weather lingering through the remainder of the week.”
