A popular airport lounge is coming to SLC, and you won’t need a Delta ticket to get in

Eligible American Express travelers will soon have access to the lounge’s outdoor terrace, full bar and meal options in between flights.

Utah travelers and visitors are getting a new option to relax at the airport, and this time, it is not tied to an airline.

American Express will open its Centurion Lounge at Salt Lake City International Airport in 2025, according to a news release from the airport. The nearly 16,000-square-foot lounge will feature an outdoor terrace, a full bar, a coffee bar and a dedicated “wellness room,” among other amenities for eligible American Express cardmembers.

The lounge will be constructed on concourse B as a part of Phase 4 of the airport’s redevelopment program.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Centurion Lounge to the new SLC International Airport,” Bill Wyatt, the airport’s executive director, said in the release. “Guests will enjoy what promises to be an inviting atmosphere to relax and refresh during their journey. We’re excited to work with American Express to bring this never-before-seen offering at SLC to life.”

The lounge will be the airport’s first that is not tied to a specific airline. Delta Air Lines already operates one Sky Club at the airport, and has plans to open a second on concourse B next year. United Airlines, meanwhile, also has plans to open a lounge among the B gates.

American Express’ lounge will include local artwork and food options from an award-winning chef, with a rotating selection of entrees, sides, salads, soups and desserts throughout the day, according to the release. The coffee bar will feature counter service with “rotating specialty coffee drinks” from a local roaster.

Travelers will also have the option of cozy armchairs, cafe seating or quiet workspaces to relax at the lounge between flights.

“American Express has strong roots in the Salt Lake City community,” Audrey Hendley, the company’s travel president, said in the news release. “It’s home to many of our colleagues and cardmembers and a popular vacation destination for U.S. and global cardmembers. The new Centurion Lounge will give eligible cardmembers a taste of what this beautiful destination has to offer and feature premium amenities for all types of travelers.”
