If you’re a fan of rain and snow, this is the week for you in northern Utah. There is a chance of precipitation every day through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
In the Wasatch Mountains north of Interstate 80, a winter storm advisory was issued through 5 a.m. Tuesday, with 5-10 inches of snow in the forecast. A winter storm warning is also planned for early Tuesday through late Wednesday, when another 10-20 inches of snow could fall.
In the Salt Lake City area, rain and a chance of snow are possible into late Monday, though accumulation isn’t likely. The forecast high is 45; the overnight low is 41. But that’s just the start of it.
• On Tuesday, there is a 50% chance of rain mixed with snow during the day, and a 90% chance overnight. Little or no snow accumulation expected. The forecast high is 49; the overnight low is 37.
• On Wednesday, there is an 80% chance of snow during the day, with little or no accumulation expected. That night, there is a 60% chance of snow, with less than an inch of accumulation possible. The forecast high is 42; the overnight low is 31.
• On Thursday, the chance of snow is forecast at 60%, with less than an inch of accumulation possible. There’s a slight chance of snow that night. The forecast high is 38; the overnight low is 29.
• On Friday and Friday night, there is a chance of more snow. The forecast high is 35; the overnight low is 26.
• On Saturday, there is another slight chance of snow. The forecast high is 35, the overnight low is 25.
Finally, on Sunday, the weather service is currently predicting party sunny skies and a high near 33.
The possibility of rain and snow each day this week extends throughout the Wasatch Front, as well as central and southern Utah.
There’s not much snow in the forecast for St. George, but it is expected to rain each day through the end of the workweek. There is slight chance of rain mixed with snow on Saturday, but mostly sunny skies are expected on Sunday. High temperatures will hover around the mid-40s.
