Riverdale police: Teenage exchange student has been abducted

The 17-year-old is being ‘held against his will,’ police believe.

Riverdale police are searching for a 17-year-old foreign exchange student they believe was “forcefully taken” from his home early Thursday.

Kai Zhuang was last seen at about 3:30 a.m. on Thursday. The student is described as 5-feet-9, 150 pounds with black hair and black eyes. According to police, they have “reason to believe” that he is “being held against his will.”

Police released no additional details, including the area of Riverdale (which is about 3.5 miles southwest of Ogden) where Zhuang was living, where he is from, or a description of a suspect or suspects. Anyone with information about the apparent abduction is asked to call Riverdale police at 801-394-6616 or Weber County dispatch at 801-395-8221.
