A 25-year-old man who stabbed his father repeatedly was shot to death by his father on Monday near Midway, according to police.
The names of the two men have not been released by the Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office.
At 6:30 p.m. on Monday, sheriff’s deputies were called to Swiss Mountain Estates, a cabin area just west of Midway. Witnesses reported that the 25-year-old man stabbed his 53-year-old father “multiple times” with a knife, adding that “the father defended himself using a firearm,” according to a news release.
The son was pronounced dead at the scene. The father was flown by medical helicopter to Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, where he was treated for his wounds. According to police, the father was listed in stable condition as of Wednesday morning.
Police released no further information about the stabbing and shooting, which remain under investigation.
