One of Utah’s most influential families served up helpings of hospitality Monday, handing out thousands of Thanksgiving meals to unhoused and food-insecure residents of the Beehive State.
The Larry H. and Gail Miller Family Foundation and Larry H. Miller Co. partnered with Salt Lake County to provide more than 3,000 meals and a variety of services at the Salt Palace Convention Center.
It marked the 24th consecutive year the Miller family has provided meals to Utahns experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
On top of receiving food, attendees had access to COVID-19 and flu vaccinations from the county’s Health Department, screenings for diabetes, free feminine hygiene kits, dental cleanings, pet vaccinations and supplies, clothes, record expungement resources, free transit passes from the Utah Transit Authority, and free bike tuneups from the Bicycle Collective.
