A 27-year-old man accused of robbing two area banks in a matter of hours Tuesday afternoon was arrested late Wednesday in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City police said.
The first robbery Tuesday took place at a Deseret Credit Union, located at 9325 South Village Shop Drive in Sandy, at 4:23 p.m., according to a news release. Police said the suspect was carrying a firearm in his front waistband and touched it multiple times during the robbery.
About 90 minutes later, police say the same man then robbed an America First Credit Union, located at 1799 South Pioneer Road in Salt Lake City. During the second robbery, he passed a note and referenced a firearm, police said.
FBI agents in Las Vegas arrested the suspect, in cooperation with police and federal agents in Salt Lake City.
