Utah can expect sunny skies after rain, snow, wind

In northern Utah, temperatures will still be a bit chillier than normal.

Sunny, temperate weather is expected in northern Utah this week following a bout of rain, snow and wind on Tuesday.

In the Salt Lake City area, expect highs in the mid-40s on Wednesday, mid-50s on Thursday and mid-60s on Friday. The forecast calls for temperatures to drop back into the upper 50s on Saturday and the mid-40s on Sunday, when there will be a slight chance of snow.

The average temperature in Salt Lake City for this time of year is 60 degrees.

A high-wind advisory was in effect for much of Tuesday, after overnight gusts of 74 mph were recorded at Snowbasin; 72 mph gusts were recorded at Powder Mountain; and 69 mph gusts were recorded at Beaver Mountain. Winds were expected to weaken Tuesday evening.

In southern Utah, nothing but sunny skies are expected through the end of the weekend.

St. George will see highs in the mid-70s on Wednesday, low 80s on Thursday and mid- to high 80s Friday and Saturday, followed by highs in the upper 70s on Sunday.

The average temperature in St. George for this time of year is about 73-74 degrees.
