Despite the widely held, yet unsupported, notion that it always rains on Latter-day Saint General Conference weekend, northern Utahns can expect mostly sun, clouds and warmer temperatures on Saturday and Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
There might be some snow early next week, however. Which is pretty typical for spring in Utah.
In the Salt Lake City area, temperatures will bounce up and down over the next few days. Clouds will move in on Saturday, but temperatures will rise to the mid-60s. And the high on Sunday will be about 60. The normal high temperature for this time of year is 59-60.
There’s a slight chance of rain Sunday night — after General Conference wraps up — into Monday morning. Temperatures will climb back up in the mid-60s, but there is a chance of rain after 7 p.m.
Then on Tuesday, the high will be about 50 degrees; there’s a chance of rain before 10 a.m.; a chance of rain mixed with snow from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; and a slight chance of snow showers after 1 p.m.
It’ll be considerably warmer in southern Utah. The forecast for St. George calls for sunny and low 80s on Saturday, and mostly cloudy and upper 70s on Sunday.
There’s a slight chance of rain on Sunday night, then the sun returns and temperatures rise back into the low 80s on Monday. Normal high temperatures in St. George at this time of year are 72-73.
