A woman was shot at a Sinclair convenience store in Roy City on Thursday evening.
Law enforcement officers responded at about 5:30 p.m. to a report of a woman who had been shot at the store located at 5190 S. and 1900 W., according to a news release from the Roy City Police Department. The woman was taken to a hospital by emergency services when officers arrived.
The woman is being treated for her injuries, according to the release. Her condition is currently unknown. The suspected shooter fled the scene but was later located and taken into custody, the release states.
More details on the circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available, but an officer said five shots were fired and that the woman was hit once. Police do not believe the woman was a store employee.
