An Orem man who allegedly stabbed his landlords and a fellow tenant has been charged with multiple felonies.
Wilton Vladimir Molina, 24, was charged in 4th District Court with two counts of attempted aggravated murder, first-degree felonies, and one count of aggravated assault, a third-degree felony.
According to the charges, on Monday evening Molina entered the home where he rented a room from a married couple and went downstairs. Shortly thereafter, the wife heard another tenant screaming that he had been stabbed, and Molina came up stairs and threatened her with a knife. As she retreated, her husband confronted Molina, who cut the wife and stabbed the husband.
The landlords retrieved a handgun and held Molina at gunpoint until police arrived and took him into custody. According to Orem police, he yelled “Kill me!” as he was being held at gunpoint, and a suicide note was found on the desk in his room. He was not seriously injured.
The tenant was stabbed in the abdomen, left arm and neck. He underwent surgery for his life-threatening wounds and was later admitted to the intensive care unit at Utah Valley Hospital. The husband was stabbed in the left shoulder, right arm and both hands and was bitten in the left leg, and he also underwent surgery. The wife suffered minor lacerations to her wrist and shin.
Molina is being held without bail in the Utah County jail.
