An active fire was reported in southern Utah Sunday afternoon. State wildfire officials named it the Oak Grove Fire after the nearby Oak Grove Campground which has been evacuated.
The fire, located near the Dixie National Forest just north of St. George, has sent up a smoke plume large enough to be visible from I-15 and on weather radar images posted to Twitter by the National Weather Service. State wildfire officials say the fire has burned five acres.
Four SEATS (single engine air transports) have been ordered to the fire, and smokejumper firefighters appear to have been dispatched.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
