As temperatures in the Beehive State are expected to remain high over the weekend, there are places Utahns can go to get some relief from the heat.
The National Weather Service issued excessive heat warnings for parts of Utah until 9 p.m. Monday. Central and northern residents can expect “dangerously hot conditions” with temperatures reaching 100 to 104 degrees in the afternoons.
Near St. George and Zion Canyon, temperatures are expected to hit 110 to 117 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services’ “Cool Zone Program” provides places for people to escape the heat. The program, which runs until Oct. 15, has an interactive map to help you find a spot near you. Locations include:
