100-degree weather expected Friday in Salt Lake City

Temperatures may dip a bit this weekend.

A record-breaking heat wave is continuing in Utah, with a high of 100 degrees expected Friday in Salt Lake City, according to the National Weather Service.

If the forecast is accurate, it will be the earliest 100 degree reading on record, the NWS said on Twitter. Utahns facing excessive heat should remember to take frequent sips of water to stay hydrated, the NWS added. People should also seek air conditioned spaces, and avoid being outside in the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Thursday’s high of 95 degrees was also a record for June 3, according to the NWS.

Temperatures are expected to dip this weekend, but highs will still be 10 degrees above normal for this time of year.
