Memorial Day was slow for COVID-19 testing in Utah — just 3,630 tests and 112 new cases — and no new deaths were reported.
According to the Utah Department of Health, 1.22 million Utahns have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. That’s about 37.6% of the state’s population.
Vaccine doses administered in past day/total doses administered • 1,756 / 2,595,912.
Utahns fully vaccinated • 1,220,559.
Cases reported in past day • 112.
Deaths reported in past day • None.
Tests reported in past day • 2,452 people were tested for the first time. A total of 3,630 people were tested.
Hospitalizations reported in past day • 130. That’s one fewer than on Monday. Of those currently hospitalized, 48 are in intensive care units, three fewer than on Monday.
Percentage of positive tests • Under the state’s original method, the rate is 4.6%. That’s lower than the seven-day average of 6.4%.
The state’s new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Tuesday’s rate was 3.1%, lower than the seven-day average of 3.9%
