Springville High teacher placed on leave while allegations against him are investigated

Some students stage walkout to protest school’s lack of action against the teacher.

A Springville High School teacher has been placed on paid leave, according to the Nebo School District, after allegations of inappropriate conduct were made against him.

A number of students staged a walkout on Monday, calling on the district to take the allegations seriously. According to a spokesperson, while allegations have been circulating on social media, the district had not received any formal complaints about the teacher until Monday.

The teacher’s name has not been released by either the school district or Springville police, who confirmed that they, too, have received reports about him.

Nebo released a statement that said, “Student safety is of utmost importance, we take all complaints and allegations seriously. We invite individuals with specific complaints or allegations to follow the proper protocol and contact Springville High’s administrative team directly to report any concerns.”
