The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

An 11-year-old Utah girl died in a fire at her East Carbon home early Sunday morning.

Firefighters arrived at 402 Carson St. at 1:41 a.m., found the home engulfed in flames and learned that Hollie Fox was inside.

According to the Wellington Fire Department, which was called to assist, despite “heavy smoke and fire,” a rescue team entered through the victim’s bedroom window and brought her out. Fox was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

A family member has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for burial and funeral expenses, and a vigil is scheduled for Wednesday at 8 p.m., at Sunnyside Park at 111 State Route 123 in East Carbon.

East Carbon, population 1,500, is about 23 miles east of Price in Carbon County, about 140 miles southeast of Salt Lake City.
