A woman in her 60s was killed Saturday when a fire broke out in a house in Taylorsville.
The fire started about 9 a.m. at a house near 2100 West and Cedar Breaks Drive, said Unified Fire Authority spokesman Patrick Costin.
When crews arrived, they found one resident of the home had escaped, but “were immediately told there was someone possibly trapped inside,” Costin said.
After crews subdued the fire around 10 a.m., they confirmed the woman had died.
“It unfortunately appears the resident passed away before the firefighters could do anything to save them,” Costin said.
No one else was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
