After a stretch of springlike weather, winter returned to Utah on Wednesday with a bit of snow in the valleys. And you can expect to see snow off and on over the next few days.
According to the National Weather Service, northern Utah valleys will see “very light snow” on Wednesday; a “brief quiet period” on Thursday; more light snow on Friday; and then accumulating snow as the weekend begins. Between 1 and 3 inches are possible on Friday night, and another 1-3 inches on Saturday. The mountains will see periods of snow, mostly light, on Wednesday and Friday, and a better chance of accumulation on Saturday.
The forecast calls for 2-4 inches in Park City on Friday night, and another 3-5 inches on Saturday.
In the Salt Lake City area, there’s a 50% chance of snow on Wednesday, a 20% chance on Friday, a 50% chance on Friday night and a 70% chance on Saturday, Daytime high temperatures will be 34 on Wednesday, 38 on Thursday, 41 on Friday and 38 on Saturday, with overnight lows in the 20s. Expect sunny skies and a high of 38 on Sunday.
The storms will miss southern Utah, which will continue to experience springlike conditions. It will be sunny and clear in the St. George area through the weekend, with highs ranging from the mid-50s to the mid-60s and lows in the low to mid-30s.
