The Olympic cauldron was returned to the University of Utah on Friday after a refurbishment to lengthen its lifespan.
The cauldron was transported to an offsite location in February 2020, where all 738 glass panes were removed and the complete structure was sandblasted and refinished.
The refurbished structure was placed on a newly constructed, 17-foot-tall pedestal, just north of the stadium ticket office, with plans to add high-quality glass.
