Hundreds came together Saturday evening for a block party to honor Black people who’ve lost their lives to police violence and racism.
People gathered at the Say Their Names memorial — one of more than 25 nationwide — located at 355 N. 500 West in Salt Lake City.
On Saturday, attendees danced and ate at food trucks, but they also heard from speakers and took time to remember those killed by police, including a number of people killed by police in Utah.
Attendees hung flowers on a chainlink fence alongside photos of those killed.
