An 11-year-old girl was hospitalized Sunday after falling 70 feet at a waterfall above the Sundance Mountain Resort.
The girl sustained a serious head injury in the fall at Stewart Falls, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. She was flown by helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital, where she was in critical condition.
Deputies and the search-and-rescue unit of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call, along with the North Fork Fire Department, which serves the resort and surrounding terrain in Provo Canyon.
Stewart Falls is about a mile west of the Sundance ski resort.
