Police searching for driver who hit bicyclist twice, killing him

West Valley City police are looking for the driver of a car that struck a bicyclist on Sunday evening, turned around and struck him again. The victim died at the scene.

Police were called to 3661 S. Market St. (2820 West) shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday and found the victim dead in the road; his bicycle was nearby. According to witnesses, the driver of a white, four-door car headed north on the residential street appeared to intentionally hit the bicyclist before turning around and hitting him a second time.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

West Valley City police are looking for a white car that has damage to its front end. Anyone with information is asked to call 801-840-4000.
