This week in Utah news:
Protesters crashed a Utah County Commission meeting in a bid to prevent a state mask mandate in schools. The protest was one of two Wednesday as the state is still grappling with how to open schools in the midst of the pandemic.
On Thursday’s weekly COVID news conference, Gov. Gary Herbert announced a change to the state’s guidelines that will allow Salt Lake City schools to join the rest of the state in reopening. Salt Lake City remains at orange, a moderate risk level, which meant before this move that its schools would be taught online only.
And the latest on vaccine research, including what we know and what we don’t.
