Idaho boy missing in Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest found safe

A 9-year-old Idaho boy that went missing in a wilderness area of Summit County Wednesday night was found Thursday morning.

Stratton Joshua Wright was hiking with family members west of Bear Lake in the Henry’s Fork drainage area of the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest when he became separated from the group at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office was notified at about 9:46 p.m., and began a ground and air search for the boy.

After searching unsuccessfully through the night, dog teams as well as additional searchers on foot and on horseback joined the hunt on Thursday morning.
