Protesters cover Salt Lake County district attorney’s office with signs demanding ‘Justice for Bernardo’

A group of about 20 people showed up at the Salt Lake County district attorney’s office on Sunday evening, making good yet again on their promise to come out every day until officials release the police report on Bernardo Palacios-Carbajal’s death.

Palacios-Carbajal, 22, was shot and killed by police on May 23. Officers fired more than 20 shots at him as he ran away.

Using a ladder to reach higher spots, the group of demonstrators covered the glass walls of the DA’s office with signs that read, among other things, “Justice for Bernardo” and “Don’t shoot.”

The demonstrators plan to return Monday at 6 p.m.
