2:40 p.m.: Five more Utahns die from COVID-19, bringing state’s death toll to 66
Five more Utahns have died from COVID-19, the state’s health department announced Saturday, bringing Utah’s death toll to 66.
Three women and one man from Salt Lake County passed away from the virus, health officials announced. All were over the age of 60 and three of those deaths were associated with a long-term care facility.
The fifth person who died was a man older than 60 who lived in San Juan County.
The state now has 6,103 COVID-19 cases, 184 more than the day before, the Utah Department of Health reported.
Ten more people have been hospitalized since the day before, bringing the total to 498 hospitalizations.
So far, 143,294 people have been tested for the coronavirus. In the last day, 4,606 more tests have been tallied.
The health department reports 2,901 cases are considered “recovered,” meaning it’s been three weeks since they were first diagnosed and they haven’t died.
