‘Utah Booze News’ podcast: Utahns are buying pricier bottles, and new bars and restaurants are coming soon

Amid the coronavirus, alcohol sales in Utah continue to climb — partly because consumers are buying more expensive bottles of beer, wine and spirits.

Terry Wood, spokesman for the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, is the guest on the latest episode of “Utah Booze News: An Alcohol Policy Podcast” — produced by The Salt Lake Tribune and FOX 13. He talks about the agency’s record-breaking liquor sales, how the agency is dealing with store closures because of COVID-19, and when bars might reopen.

Also, get an update on this week’s DABC liquor commission meeting and learn about the new business owners undeterred by the pandemic.
