Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old man early Saturday in North Ogden.
Three people were arrested Sunday in connection with the killing of Dalton Wood, according to a news release from North Ogden Police Lt. Jeremy Hindes.
Officers responded at 12:17 a.m. Saturday to reports of shots fired in the 400 East block of 1700 North. Responders found Wood in the street, according to Hindes.
Wood was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Hindes said in a statement.
Witnesses told officers they saw two unidentified individuals leaving the scene, possibly in a dark-colored sports-utility vehicle, he said.
Initial information obtain by officers indicates Wood and the assailants knew one another, Hindes said, and “this was not a random act of violence.”
Officers from North Ogden Police Department and the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force continue to investigate the incident, he said.
