'Utah Booze News’ podcast: Expect delays and thinly stocked shelves when state makes the switch to stronger beer

Consumers should expect delays and thinly stocked shelves Nov. 1 as Utah attempts to make a one-day switch from 3.2 beer to higher alcohol brews, says Sal Petilos, executive director of the Utah Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

On this week’s edition of the ‘Utah Booze News’ podcast, Petilos tells Salt Lake Tribune reporter Kathy Stephenson and Fox 13′s Ben Winslow how a longer transition period could help grocery and convenience stores.

Petilos also announces who is on the state’s new beer transition task force and gives an update on new liquor stores in Utah. Hint: Some cities don’t want them. Listen here.
