A Draper Police lieutenant who is under investigation for “possible policy violations” has announced his retirement — but the investigation will continue.
Chad Carpenter, the Draper department’s longtime public information officer, was placed on administrative leave on March 13 after unspecified allegations were made against him. Draper City and the Unified Police Department are conducting the investigation.
In a press release, officials said the city “supports the investigation process and follows its policies and procedures.” They declined to comment any further “in order to protect the integrity of the investigation.”
On Thursday, Carpenter submitted a notice-of-retirement letter. Draper’s investigation will continue, however.
