Hit-and-run driver kills one man, critically injures another in South Salt Lake

South Salt Lake Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who killed one man and critically injured another on Saturday night.

The two victims were in a crosswalk at 3300 S. Main Street at 11:51 p.m. when the light changed, according to police, and a car proceeded through the intersection and struck them. Both were transported to a hospital, where one man died and the other is in critical condition.

Michael Corby Westover, 42, of Salt Lake City was killed; the name of the other victim, a 33-year-old man, has not been released.

Police said the vehicle that struck them is believed to be a dark-colored Chevy Trailblazer. They’re asking that anyone with information about the incident call 801-840-4000.
