Pleasant Grove teacher arrested after alleged sexual activity with a teen student reported

A Pleasant Grove High School teacher was arrested Thursday after a 17-year-old student told a clergy member that he had been allegedly touched inappropriately by the man after school.

According to FOX 13, the teen boy had sought help from Kenneth Columbus Ayers, 41, with an assignment. While Ayers was helping the student, the teen requested sexual contact from him, according to a charging document.

“[Ayers] explained that he only [touched] the student for approximately 30 seconds before he began to regret his actions,” the charging document stated. “At this time, he stopped and the student got up and left the room.”

Ayers was charged with one count of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, a third-degree felony.
