TRAX service remained disrupted Wednesday afternoon on all three lines in Salt Lake City after an equipment malfunction caused sparks, an explosion and a fire on a train Tuesday night.
There were about 30 people on board when the overhead wire that powers TRAX fell onto the train at 350 S. Main St. about 10 p.m. Tuesday. The cause remains under investigation, according to the Utah Transit Authority.
One man was treated at a hospital for a wrist injury; all other passengers and the driver got off the train safely.
As repairs continued Wednesday morning, UTA employed bus bridges around the area. UTA advised commuters to “expect significant delay."
