Lone Peak police have taken a dummy into custody — and they’re interested in finding out who left him in the middle of the road.
According to the department’s Facebook page, police were dispatched to Alpine on a report of a dummy in the middle of the road. “No, I’m not being mean by calling someone a ‘dummy,’ it was an actually [sic] dummy.”
Dubbed Fred — “No offense to any Freds out there” — the dummy was left in the middle of the road by juveniles, who hid nearby to watch the reaction of drivers who came upon what appeared to be a body in the road.
“It may have been funny to them, but wasn't funny to female driver who happened across Fred,” according to LPPD.
The dummy was taken into custody and is currently residing at police headquarters. “Obviously, if anyone wants to claim Fred, you can come to the PD and get him and have a chat with us.”
One commenter asked if Fred can be borrowed. “Asking for a co-worker.”
“He has to see the judge first,” police replied.
