A Utah Highway Patrol trooper was hospitalized after being hit by a car while responding to crashes that closed Highway 91 in Sardine Canyon.
After heavy snowfall, there were several crashes in the canyon. The trooper was outside his vehicle responding to a crash when he was hit, according to a UHP news release. He was transported to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, according to UHP.
The highway was closed in both directions, but southbound traffic opened up just after 6 p.m. The highway fully opened at about 7 p.m.
