An avalanche warning is in effect and precipitation records are falling after a winter storm made its way through Utah with snow in the north and heavy rain in the south.
The Utah Avalanche Center says high avalanche danger continues Thursday across northern Utah.
The most snow fell Wednesday night in the Wasatch Mountains south of Interstate 80 with up to 21 inches reported at Brighton Crest. About 9 inches was reported at Powder Mountain east of Salt Lake City.
In southern Utah, the .93 inch of rain recorded in St. George tied the record set in 1905.
Cedar City, Fillmore and Bryce Canyon Airport all set new precipitation records.
Cedar City's .21 inch shattered the old mark of .04 set last year. The .51 in Fillmore topped .42 set in 1978. Bryce Canyon's .30 topped .24 in 1955.
