Police in Cache County are searching for an 18-year-old man who was reported missing Wednesday morning.
Kyle Burton, of Lovell, Wyo., had been staying with family members in River Heights for the past several weeks, but reportedly left the home on foot about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday and never returned.
It is believed that Burton left the home without a coat or phone. He may be wearing a red T-shirt with shorts or blue jeans and black Adidas shoes.
Burton likes the outdoors and hiking in the local canyons, police say.
Burton is a white man who is 5-foot-10 and weighs about 210 pounds with a husky build, police say. He has blue eyes and brown hair, and tends to have quiet or shy mannerisms but is friendly. He has a scar on his left knee from surgery.
Sheriff’s office spokesman Joshua Timothy said Burton is considered a “vulnerable adult.”
The Cache County Sheriff’s Office sent out a recorded message from dispatch to residents within a 3-mile radius of the home, notifying them that Burton was missing and giving them his description.
Deputies have also been canvassing the area with flyers and going door-to-door in the neighborhood. Burton’s family is also assisting in the search efforts, using their horses and outdoor equipment.
Anyone with information about Burton is asked to contact the Cache County Sheriff’s Office tip line at 435-755-1100, Detective Brian Groves at 435-755-1146 or dispatch at 435-753-7555. Tipsters are asked to reference case No. 17-C10825.
