Utah Transit Authority ski bus service begins Sunday, the same day a couple dozen regular bus routes will have their schedules tweaked to improve connections with rail service or to improve their on-time reliability.
That is part of a three-times-a-year change day for UTA. The change days occur in December, April and August.
Ski bus service begins Sunday from the Salt Lake Valley to ski resorts in Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood canyons, and from the Provo area to the Sundance ski resort.
Service will begin Dec. 19 from the Ogden area to the Snowbasin and Powder Mountain resorts.
One-way fare on ski buses is $4.50.
Regular buses from Salt Lake City to Park City will also extend routes beginning Sunday to serve resorts in the Park City area. The one-way fare on those buses is also $4.50.
Specific schedules and routes are available online at rideuta.com.
UTA said it is also tweaking the schedules of numerous bus routes to improve connections with TRAX and/or FrontRunner. They include routes 2, 6, 33, 35, 39, 41, 45, 47, 217, 248, 516 and 811.
Several other bus routes will have schedules adjusted slightly to improve their on-time reliability. They include routes 54, 62, 200, 228, 240, 455, 470, 473, 513, 640, 645, 650, 665, 821, 830, 831, 833, 838 and 850.
UTA said it also will adjust the schedule slightly on its TRAX Green Line to improve on-time reliability.
Also, it is eliminating its last Sunday trip each week on the TRAX Blue Line because of freight service on tracks then in some areas.
