Arches National Park's massive road construction project is continuing with new closures this coming week.
The Windows Section is closed for up to five weeks. According to the park service, the road will be closed at the intersection of the main park and the Windows Section roads.
All uses will be closed during the construction, meaning there will be no access to Double or Turret Arches or to the North or South Windows.
Construction work will also soon begin on the Balanced Rock parking lot, but the exact date has not yet been determined. It is expected that there will be a full or partial closure to that lot.
Devils Garden Campground remains closed through Nov. 30.
The park visitor center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Ranger programs are presented there at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
During construction, visitors must arrive before 6:30 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday. All vehicles must be out of the closure area no later than 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
The park reopens at 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and is open weekends from 7 a.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday due to road construction.
The project includes resurfacing, restoring and rehabilitating approximately 23 miles of roads and pullouts in Arches. Work is scheduled to last until the end of November. There may be delays of up to a half an hour in the park on some days.
