Salt Lake City’s Twilight lineup is out: Six shows at 2 downtown venues

Here’s how to get tickets to hear Japanese Breakfast, Mt. Joy and other acts

After 37 years, The Twilight Concert Series is something of a summer staple for Utahns. But in it’s 38th year, the downtown Salt Lake City music festival will be trying something new — splitting its shows between two locations.

Three of the six shows on the bill for 2025 will happen at Library Square, instead of the Gallivan Center, according to a news release from S&S Presents, the local concert booking company that hosts the series alongside the Salt Lake City Arts Council.

The number of tickets available for shows at the Gallivan Center have been reduced, according to the news release, to allow “more space for attendees” and to “enhance the concert-going experience” and the Library Square shows will be the largest.

Library Square serves as a venue for many summer events, such as the Utah Arts Festival and Living Traditions. Three years ago, certified sadgirl Phoebe Bridgers rocked the plaza as part of the third annual Kilby Court Block Party; a year later, Bridgers returned to the same venue as part of the supergroup boygenius.

Here’s who is on the bill this summer and a playlist of their songs:

Saturday, July 12: Hip-hop duo Earthgang, alongside Dallas-based songwriter JMSN and northern Utah fusion band Bad Luck Brigade. (Gallivan Center)

Thursday, July 17: Sierra Ferrell, who swept at the 2025 Grammy Awards with four wins (Best American Roots Performance, Best Americana Performance, Best American Roots Song and Best Americana album) will perform, with support from Utah alt artist Sammy Brue and an artist yet to be announced. (Library Square)

Wednesday, Aug. 6: American indie music project Waxahatachee, with Foxwarren and SLC’s Wilbere. (Gallivan Center)

Tuesday, Aug. 12: Indie headliner Mt. Joy, with SLC’s surf-rock band The Moss. (Library Square)

Friday, Sept. 5: Indie pop icon Japanese Breakfast, with Ginger Root and Utah group Tomper. (Gallivan Center)

(Leah Hogsten | The Salt Lake Tribune) Japanese Breakfast lead singer Michelle Zauner belts out a song at the Kilby Court Block Party at the Utah State Fairpark, May 12, 2023. Japanese Breakfast is scheduled to return to Salt Lake City on Sept. 5, 2025, to the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City as part of the Twilight Concert Series.

Monday, Sept. 22: Big Thief, a Brooklyn-based indie band, with “special guests to be announced.” (Library Square)

Season passes go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. and cost $100 (with fees and taxes). The Library Square three-show pass costs $54.65 (with fees and taxes).

Individual tickets go on sale on Thursday at 10 a.m. Individual general admission tickets for all six shows cost $25.88 (with fees and taxes).

Summer concert season announcements in Utah are underway. Last week, the nine headliners for the Ogden Twilight series were revealed.
