Salt Lake City’s beloved summer music event, the Twilight Concert Series, will return for its 36th year, with a lineup filled with national and Utah-based indie-alternative acts.
Presented in partnership by local concert booking company S&S Presents and the Salt Lake City Arts Council at the Gallivan Center in downtown Salt Lake City, the Twilight Concert Series is set to kick off on June 2. Organizers announced the concert slate Wednesday.
Here are the performers and dates scheduled for this year’s series:
June 2: L.A.-based indie rock band Lord Huron will headline, with singer-songwriter Allie Crow Buckley and Provo artist Little Moon opening.
June 9: Rock band Death Cab for Cutie, originally from Bellingham, Washington, is the headliner; opening acts are Austin artist Lomelda and 26Fix.
July 15: Minnesota-based bluegrass band Trampled By Turtles will headline, with singer-songwriter Amigo the Devil and local artist Rachael Jenkins as opening acts.
Aug. 4: Beloved indie-folk band The Head and the Heart and American songwriter Father John Misty will co-headline, with singer-songwriter Miya Folick as the opening act.
Aug. 10: Nashville singer-songwriter Sophie Allison, who performs under the name Soccer Mommy, will headline; Blue Rain Boots and another act to be announced will open.
Sept. 22: Japanese-British musician and actor Rina Sawayama — who appears in the new “John Wick: Chapter 4″ — is the headliner; Utah artist Anais Chantal and another act to be announced are the openers.
Tickets are now on sale at 24tix.com, and individual show tickets go on sale Thursday at 10 a.m. Tickets for the series also include free Utah Transit Authority fares all day on the day of the show.
